CANCELLED uMove x Semmma Snow Fest Day - March 4th, 2025

This event is cancelled in winter 2025. Welcoe to join next year!

The popular and much-loved winter event Snow Fest Day (Laskiaisrieha) is back in spring 2025!
The event will feature numerous winter activities, including the traditional uMove x Riemu Snow Volley Tournament, a spikeball area, activity points, sledding, and other fun winter activities.

Amidst all the excitement, you can enjoy delicious snacks and traditional snow festbuns from Semma.

The prevailing snow conditions (lack of snow) have created challenges for organizing the event. A decision on whether the event will take place or be canceled will be announced by Thursday, February 27th, at 12:00 at the latest.

Event details: 

Date and timing: Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Location: Tuomiojärvi beach. Polvitie 1, 40200 Jyväskylä.

Right to participate:: Open to all All JYU & JAMK students and staff members.

Participation fee: Free of charge.
A team fee applies for tournaments — 25 €/team.

uMove x Riemu Snow Volley Tournament 2025

Join us for a cheerful winter beach volleyball tournament!
Gather your friends and sign up for either the competitive serie or the more relaxed recreational serie.
The tournament is organized and officiated by Liikunnan Riemu.

Registration opens on February 4th, 12:00 PM.

  • Series: Competitive & recreational series
  • Number of teams (min. & max.): 4–6 teams / serie
  • Team size: 3–5 players / team
  • Participation fee: 25 €/team
  • Registration: Teams must register via the link provided below. The team captain will register the entire team (individual team members do not need to register separately).

    Registration opens on Tuesday, February 4th, at 12:00 and closes on February 25th or when the tournament is full.

    • Registration is binding. The participation fee will be paid once the tournament is confirmed (snow conditions are sufficient for the event).

    Teams will be informed about the tournament’s confirmation or cancellation by Thursday, February 27th, at 12:00 at the latest.

Other Activities:

  • Free sled rentals for everyone!
    Celebrate Finnish Shrove Tuesday in traditional style by borrowing a sled from our partners or bringing your own!
    The sled rental is organized by the JYU Student Union, JAMKO and Aktiivinen ja Hyvinvoiva korkeakoulu- project.  
  • Spikeball- area/ pop up!
    Come and tyr spikeball in the snow with your friends in a fun, relaxed atmosphere! The snow will add an extra challenge to the game, ensuring plenty of laughs and excitement.
  • Other pop up-activities!
    Feel free to come try other fun pop up-activities during the day!
